    These collected objects, brought from the beach, a jewellery
box or a garden, were given to me by a loved one.
Although they have no intrinsic value they are precious to me.
I aimed to create a fabric of precioussness as I find value
in caring for these nestled objects, which are part of
the fabric of my relationship with this person.

material / techique

    For this project I used an ink(ausbrenner) that burns away
natural fiber. By using it on a material that contains both natural
and synthetic fiber you obtain an effect of “transparency”.

    The fragility and translucency encourages the viewer to come
closer and see for themselves what is hidden and embedded in
the fabric, creating more intimacy and a closer, more
carefull relationship with the fabric.
